Electronics Technician for Operating Technology

A practice-oriented and project-oriented apprenticeship awaits you in several technical divisions (e.g., Mechanics, Mechanical and Plant Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering). Electronics Technicians for Operating Technology install, service and repair electrical and electronic facilities. Your job description includes using various test, measurement, control and programming units, and being able to work together with other professionals as an important member of the team.

The practical apprenticeship takes place in our plant in Hellenthal. During the apprenticeship you will receive sound basic knowledge with the help of modern equipment. Furthermore, you will take part in in-house training as well as external courses.

Contents of the apprenticeship

The aim is to acquire the following skills and know-how:

  • Installing and connecting electrical equipment
  • Measuring and analysing electrical functions and systems
  • Drawing up designs for the modification and expansion of new buildings or plants
  • Technical failure and error analysis and solution development
  • Configuration and programming of control systems

Vocational school

The curricular contents are taught as a sandwich course in the Thomas-Eßer-Berufskolleg (Thomas Esser Career College), Kommerner Str. 137, 53879 Euskirchen.

Duration

The apprenticeship takes 3.5 years and ends with a final examination by the IHK Aachen. With applicable preparatory training and good results, this time can be reduced.

Conditions of employment

  • Advanced technical college certificate or higher
  • Sound knowledge of mathematics and physics
  • Technical understanding, technical skills, quick reactions, accuracy, as well as logical and analytical abilities
  • Creativity, flexibility, the ability to work in a team as well as independently

The apprenticeship begins September 1, 2012.
