Industrial Mechanic
Field of operation: Precision Engineering
You can expect a practical and multifaceted job. In addition to manufacturing, industrial mechanics also rig machines and production facilities. They monitor and optimise production processes and carry out repair and maintenance tasks.
Industrial mechanics at Schoeller manufacture the parts for our facilities in our workshops using modern manual and CNC guided machines, and, among other things, ensure the smooth operation of our production facilities.
The practical apprenticeship takes place in our plant in Hellenthal. During the training in our mechanical workshops, you will take on responsible tasks with our technical equipment and modern plant equipment and will become a skilled employee in a demanding field.
Contents of the apprenticeship
The aim is to acquire the following skills and know-how:
- To read, use and prepare technical documents/drawings
- Handling of basic and auxiliary materials
- To plan and manage work procedures and workflows
- To control and assess the results
- Maintenance of work equipment and resources
- To check, mark and label
- Manual and mechanical machining, grading, forming
- To screw, bond, solder and weld
- Enhance skills and knowledge according to internal focus areas
Vocational school
The curricular contents are taught as a sandwich course in the Thomas-Eßer-Berufskolleg (Thomas Esser Career College), Kommerner Str. 137, 53879 Euskirchen.
Duration
The apprenticeship takes 3.5 years and ends with a final examination by the IHK Aachen. With applicable preparatory training and good results, this time can be reduced.
Conditions of employment
- Advanced technical college certificate or higher
- Sound knowledge of math and physics
- Technical understanding, technical aptitude, quick reactions, accuracy, as well as logical and analytical abilities
- Creativity, flexibility, the ability to work in a team as well as independently
Start of apprenticeship
The apprenticeship begins September 1, 2012.
