Appearance in Piacenza: Schoeller at Italy's First Nuclear Power Expo

Schoeller attended the Nuclear Power Expo in Piacenza (June 9-11, 2026) for the first time, marking its entry into Italy’s dedicated nuclear industry forum. Now in its second edition, the biennial event brings together more than 50 Italian and international exhibitors and has established itself as a key meeting point for the sector in Southern Europe.

The exhibition ran alongside the Hydrogen Expo, Italy’s leading trade fair for the hydrogen sector, reflecting the broader energy transition agenda that defines the Piacenza format.

Schoeller participated as part of the collective stand organized by AIPE, the Italian Association of Pressure Equipment Manufacturers. We would like to express our sincere thanks to AIPE for their coordination and support.

Italy occupies a distinctive position within the European nuclear landscape. Despite having operated no nuclear power plants since a national referendum in 1987, the country ranks as the second-largest supplier to the European nuclear industry, and the eighth-largest economy in the world. The Italian market is evolving rapidly, and its industrial base in the nuclear supply chain continues to grow.

For Schoeller, the power generation sector is longstanding ground. Precision-drawn and welded stainless steel tubes have been supplied to energy projects worldwide since 1966, covering applications in HP and LP heaters as well as condensers and MSR tubes. The product portfolio, which includes a broad range of austenitic and ferritic grades as well as titanium, covering dimensional range that is unique in its breadth on the European market, is qualified for ASTM, ASME and DIN EN standards. Customer-specific approvals from well-known plant operators further underline the suitability of these products for safety-critical environments such as those encountered in the nuclear supply chain.

Since 2025, Schoeller has been represented locally by Luigi Ricci, Sales & Business Development Manager based in Milan, who maintains close and ongoing contact with customers and prospects across the Italian market.
