Dual Study Goes International: Semester Abroad in Finland

As part of his dual study program at Schoeller, Cedric had the opportunity to spend his semester abroad at the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in Finland. For four months, he not only immersed himself in the Finnish world of study, but also experienced a real winter adventure: temperatures as low as -20 °C, snow-covered cities, frozen lakes – and exciting excursions into nature.

In addition to lectures and a practice-oriented robotics project, Cedric used the time to make new friends with students from all over the world and improve his English in international exchanges.

His personal highlight: a trip to Lapland lasting several days, including a snowmobile tour, reindeer fillet and a visit to Santa Claus in Rovaniemi. Cedric also explored Finnish student culture, including “Vappu” in Helsinki – a vibrant festival similar to carnival, full of colorful outfits and lively celebration.

His conclusion: “This experience has made me grow – both professionally and personally. I’ll carry it with me for the rest of my life.”

At Schoeller, our dual study programs can include international semesters – offering personal and professional growth. Curious? Take a look at our career site (German website) for open positions and to learn more.
