For years, the Apprentice Outdoor Training has been a fixed part of our company’s training program. What began as a one-time initiative has grown into a fixture that new apprentices and trainers alike look forward to.
Once again this year, the program returned to the high ropes course in Hellenthal, up to 13 meters (approx. 43 ft) above the ground. The focus was not on technical skills, but on the foundation that makes any successful apprenticeship possible: mutual trust, reliability, and a strong sense of teamwork.
The day opened with trust exercises, including guiding a partner through an obstacle course and crossing a rope ladder that could only be managed with the support of the entire group. This was followed by the high ropes course itself, where every participant tested personal limits with the team’s support.
One apprentice summed up the experience this way: “With trust, teamwork, and the willingness to push past personal limits, almost anything is possible.”
The Apprentice Outdoor Training is more than a day out. It is part of a development concept that starts early: apprentices who learn from day one to rely on others and take responsibility within a team carry that ability into their professional lives.
