On September 1, 2026, 13 new trainees and dual-degree students began their training programs at Schoeller. They cover a broad range of technical and business roles: three dual-degree students in General Management, one female and one male Mechatronics trainee, one Electronics Technician for Automation Technology trainee, one Machine and Plant Operator trainee, four Industrial Mechanic trainees, and two Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering (Betriebstechnik) trainees.
The new colleagues had already had the chance to get to know one another beforehand: at the traditional “Azubi Blind Date” on August 27, 2026, they met their trainers and fellow trainees from higher-year cohorts in a relaxed setting. On September 1 and 2, structured onboarding days followed for the technical trainees and dual-degree students, offering first insights into the company’s various departments. As part of the start of their training, the new trainees also took part in a group photo session with Schoeller’s management team. Two weeks in, the new trainees are now getting to know their respective fields step by step.
Just as varied as their training programs are the interests within this year’s group: some enjoy working on things themselves in their free time — whether it’s their own car or a vintage Simson moped — and like to take their motorcycle out for a ride on weekends off. Others are passionate about motorsport, including trips to see Formula 1 in Spa-Francorchamps. Creativity comes through in detail-rich 3D drawings of rooms and buildings and in learning to play guitar, while others stay active playing badminton or hiking in the mountains. On the culinary side, there’s plenty to go around too — from home-baked bread to a daily cup of coffee to a dream destination in Japan, drawn in by its culture, nature, and food alike.
