What keeps a craft interesting after more than 15 years? For Arndt, the answer is variety. He works as a TIG welder in the small-diameter department and has been at Schoeller since 2009. Back then, he wanted to learn something new and deliberately chose to jump in at the deep end. Today he runs long production lines, and every day brings different challenges. He especially values that you keep learning along the way. Welding machines, by the way, are real divas in his view, and he should know.
In our latest employee video, Arndt shares what keeps him at Schoeller: the camaraderie typical of the Eifel region. “We’re all Eifelaner, we help each other,” he says. For him, Schoeller means being rooted in the region and its people, or as he puts it: “Schoeller is DNA.”
Outside of work, Arndt stays just as busy. After hours, he picks up a guitar or bass, goes hiking in Austria or trains at the gym.
